Delete your Squadd account

You can permanently delete your Squadd account and all associated data at any time. This page explains how, what gets deleted, and how to request deletion if you can no longer access the app.

1. Delete from inside the app (recommended)

Open the Squadd app on your iPhone or Android device
Tap the Settings tab
Scroll to the bottom of the screen
Tap Delete my account
Read the warning, confirm twice

Deletion is immediate. You'll be signed out and your data is removed within minutes.

2. Request deletion by email

If you can't access the app, for example because you've uninstalled it, lost your phone or forgotten your password, email us and we'll process the deletion for you.

Use the subject line "Account deletion request" and include the email address you signed up with. We'll verify it's really you, delete your data, and confirm by reply within 7 days.

3. What gets deleted

When you delete your account we permanently remove:

Your profile (name, email, profile photo, push tokens)
Your team memberships (you're removed from every team you belong to), your links to any players, and any request you made to link to a player, with the photo you attached
Your chat messages, the newsfeed posts you made and their photos, and your reactions, poll votes and Player of the Match votes
What you wrote to other teams through Find a friendly
Absences you logged for a player
Any content reports you filed
Your email address from our record of the emails we've sent you
Any team where you're the only member, with all of that team's data (players and their photos, fixtures, training, lineups, match events, gallery photos, Time Capsule voice notes, the team badge, chat messages, newsfeed posts, payment records)

A team that still has other members is not deleted. It carries on without you. If you were its only admin, one of its coaches becomes admin. If it has no coach, its members can email us and we'll help them pick a new admin. To choose who takes over yourself, make them an admin in Settings > Members before you delete your account.

4. What's kept (and why)

The team's own records. A team that carries on keeps its players, fixtures, results, training, availability answers, invite links and payment records, because they belong to the team, not to you. Anything you added or recorded there stays, without your name on it.
Photos and voice notes you shared with a team. Photos you added to a team's gallery and voice notes you recorded for its Time Capsule stay with the team, without your name on them. If you'd rather they went too, delete them in the app before you delete your account, or email us and we'll remove them.
What other members wrote. We don't rewrite other people's posts or match reports. If a coach mentioned you by name, that text stays as they wrote it.
A record of the deletion, for 30 days. When you leave a team, or a team is deleted with you, we note your name and email address against it, so we can look into any problem with the deletion. After 30 days your name and email address are erased from that record automatically, leaving only which team it was, your role on it and the dates.
Suggestions you sent us. Ideas you sent through Suggest a feature in Settings stay, without your name, because they're feedback about Squadd rather than about you. Email us and we'll remove them.
The reason you gave for deleting, if you gave one. When you delete your account or a team we ask, optionally, what made you do it. The answer is stored on its own, with no link to you, your email or your team: we keep it to fix what made you leave. Skipping the question stores nothing.
Aggregated analytics. Counts and totals (e.g. "12 teams created in April") that contain no personal data.
Backups. Database backups are retained for 30 days for disaster recovery, then permanently deleted. Your data is purged from those backups within 30 days of your deletion request.
Payment records (where required by law). If you paid for a Squadd subscription, transaction records are retained for the period required by UK tax law (currently 6 years). These contain only the transaction amount, date and a billing reference, not your name or email.
