Subscribing Your Schedule to Your Device Calendar

Overview

Squadd can export your team's fixtures and training sessions as a live calendar subscription. Once subscribed, your device calendar automatically shows upcoming matches and training — and updates whenever your coach adds or changes something.

This works with Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, and Outlook.

Setting Up the Calendar Feed

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap Calendar feed
  3. Tap Open in calendar app

Your device will open the system prompt to subscribe to the calendar. Accept it and your fixtures and training sessions appear in your calendar within a few minutes.

💡 If Open in calendar app doesn't work on your device, tap Copy link instead and paste the URL manually into your calendar app's "Add subscribed calendar" or "Subscribe from URL" field.

Adding the URL Manually

If you need to paste the URL manually, here's where to find the subscription option in each app:

Apple Calendar (iPhone / Mac):
Settings → Calendar → Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Subscribed Calendar → paste the URL

Google Calendar:
Settings (gear icon) → Add calendar → From URL → paste the URL

Outlook:
Add calendar → Subscribe from web → paste the URL

What Gets Included

The calendar feed includes events from the past two months and the next six months:

Event type Calendar entry
Fixture Match title (e.g. "Riverside FC: v Eagles"), time, location
Match Day Day title (e.g. "Riverside FC: Spring Festival"), time if set
Training session "Riverside FC: Training", time, location

Cancelled sessions and fixtures do not appear.

How Updates Work

The subscription is live — your calendar app re-fetches the feed automatically, typically every hour. When your coach adds a new fixture, changes a kick-off time, or cancels training, the update appears in your calendar on the next refresh.

You don't need to do anything when the schedule changes — it updates itself.

If you want to revoke access to your calendar feed (for example, you've shared the link and want to stop it working):

  1. Go to Settings → Calendar feed
  2. Tap Reset URL

This generates a new link. Any calendar apps subscribed to the old link will stop updating. Share the new link with anyone who needs it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the calendar show fixtures for all my teams?
Yes — if you're a member of multiple Squadd teams, the feed includes events from all of them.

How long does it take for new fixtures to appear in my calendar?
Usually within an hour — that's how often most calendar apps refresh subscribed feeds. Some apps let you manually refresh sooner.

Can I share my calendar link with someone else?
Yes, but anyone with the link can see your team's full schedule. Only share it with people who should have that access. Use Reset URL to revoke access if needed.

The calendar stopped updating — what do I do?
Check your internet connection, then try manually refreshing the calendar in your calendar app. If it still doesn't update, try removing and re-adding the subscription using the URL from Settings → Calendar feed.

Can I add just training sessions and not fixtures, or vice versa?
Not currently — the feed includes all event types. You can hide specific calendar events in your calendar app if needed.
