Editing a Fixture

You can edit most fixture details at any time — before, during, or after a match.

  1. Open the fixture from the Fixtures tab
  2. Tap the ✏️ edit icon (top-right of the fixture detail screen)
  3. Update the fields you need to change
  4. Tap Save

What can be edited

Notifying parents about changes

After you save, Squadd asks: "Notify parents about the changes?"

If you tap Yes, a push notification is sent to all coaches and parents listing exactly what changed — date, time, location, or home/away status. Tap No to save silently.

💡 Always notify parents if the date, time, or location has changed. They may already have travel arranged.


Cancelling a Fixture

Squadd doesn't have a single "Cancel fixture" button. The recommended approach depends on why you're cancelling:

Option A — The match is postponed (edit the date)

If the match is moving to a new date, edit the fixture date rather than deleting it. Your existing availability responses, lineup, and any match notes are preserved.

  1. Edit the fixture → change the date and/or kick-off time
  2. Save → notify parents

Option B — The match is called off entirely (delete the fixture)

If the match won't be rescheduled:

  1. Open the fixture
  2. Tap the 🗑 delete icon (top-right, visible to Team Admins only)
  3. Read the warning and confirm

⚠️ Deletion is permanent. All associated data is removed — availability responses, the lineup, any match events, and the match report. This cannot be undone.

Only Team Admins can delete fixtures. If you're a Coach (not an admin), ask your team admin to delete it, or post a message in the feed to let parents know the match is off.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can coaches (non-admins) delete fixtures?
No — deletion is restricted to Team Admins. Coaches can edit all fixture details but cannot delete.

Will parents be notified automatically when I edit a fixture?
Only if you choose to send a notification when prompted after saving. The notification is always optional.

I need to cancel training, not a fixture — where do I do that?
Training cancellations are handled separately. Open the training session from the Training tab and tap Cancel session. Parents receive an automatic push notification when a training session is cancelled. See Managing Training Sessions.

The fixture has already been played — can I still edit it?
Yes. You can edit fixture details even after a match report has been published. The result can only be corrected from the match report screen.

I deleted a fixture by mistake — can it be recovered?
Not through the app. Contact support@squadd.co.uk and we may be able to recover the data.
