What Gets Posted to the Feed After a Match?
Overview
Squadd automatically posts updates to the team feed during and after a match. This keeps parents informed in real time without you needing to write anything manually — though you can always add your own post on top.
During the Match — Goal Alerts
Every time you record a goal in the live match screen, a Goal Alert is posted to the feed instantly. The feed keeps a match's goal alerts together on one card, so a 6–2 win is a single card rather than eight posts.
The card shows:
- The score, marked LIVE while the match is being played and FULL TIME once it's finished
- Who scored for your team, and in which minute
- View match, which opens the match. Parents land on their child's match page, with the goals in order.
Parents watching from home can follow along as the score updates.
The goal alerts are temporary: when you publish the full-time Match Summary (see below), they're tidied away into the summary, so the feed ends up with the report for the match.
💡 Goal alerts are posted automatically and cannot be suppressed during a live match. If you record a goal by mistake, undo it in the live match screen: while the match is on, the card's score follows the live match, so it corrects itself. The scorer's name stays on the card until the match summary replaces it, and the match report and final stats are accurate.
After the Match — Match Summary
When you tap Publish to feed on the match report screen, a Match Summary post is created and added to the feed.
The post includes:
- The final score
- Who scored, most goals first, with a number beside anyone who scored more than one. An own goal names nobody, whichever way it went in
- Your Player of the Match (if you picked one)
- Goalkeeper of the Match and their save count (if goalkeeper tracking is enabled and a keeper was recorded)
- How the Parents' Player of the Match finished, once voting has closed. Just the name, or all of them if it was a tie, never the vote counts. Publish while voting is still open and you get a reminder to vote instead
The parents' vote doesn't wait for this post: it opens at full time and closes 3 hours later, whether or not you've published.
Publishing the match summary doesn't send a notification. If you recorded the match live, everyone on the team already got one at full time, with the score.
The match summary also includes a View fixture button so parents can tap through to the full fixture detail, where they can see the complete match report and, while voting is open, vote for Parents' Player of the Match.
If you correct the result, scorers or awards afterwards, you don't need to delete the post — open the Match Report, tap Edit report, then Update report to refresh it with the latest details.
What Is Not Included in the Feed Post
The Match Summary post deliberately leaves out:
- Coach notes — these are private to coaching staff and are never published
- Player ratings — always coach-only, never visible to parents

You can always write your own post after a match — a message to the team, a photo from the day, a poll about the next kit vote. Tap + New post from the Feed tab.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I stop goal alerts from being posted?
Not currently — goal alerts post automatically whenever a goal event is recorded. If you're using the live match tracker, goals will go to the feed.
The match summary doesn't show the correct scorers — what happened?
The match summary is generated from the events you recorded during the live match. If a scorer was recorded incorrectly, correct it on the Match Report screen (you can fix the score, scorers, own goals and minutes after full time). The feed post doesn't refresh on its own, but you can tap Update report on the Match Report to push the corrected details — and the fixture detail always shows the corrected data.
Can I edit a match summary post after publishing?
The match summary can be refreshed: correct the result, scorers or awards on the Match Report screen, then tap Update report to replace the summary — no need to delete and start again. (Ordinary manual feed posts you write yourself can still only be deleted, not edited.)
Will parents be notified of every goal alert?
No. Goal alerts go to the feed without a notification, so a high-scoring match doesn't buzz every phone for each goal. When you tap Full Time, families get one notification with the result, which opens their child's match page.
