Team Sides
Overview
Team Sides lets you split your squad into named groups under a single Squadd team. Fixtures, lineups, and stats can be filtered by side — so if you run an A team and a B team, or group players into Stars and Moons at a festival, each side gets its own view without needing separate Squadd teams.
All sides share the same training sessions, chat, and newsfeed.
Enabling Team Sides
- Go to Settings → Optional modules
- Toggle Team sides on
Once enabled, a Sides option appears in Settings where you can create and manage your sides.
Creating a Side
- Go to Settings → Team Sides
- Tap +
- Enter a name (e.g. "A Team", "Stars", "Red") and a tag (a short code, e.g. "A", "STARS", "RED")
- Tap Save
The tag is used to label fixtures and filter the lineup — keep it short and distinctive.
You can create as many sides as you need. Each side shows a player count on the Sides screen.
Assigning Players to Sides
Players can have a default side — the side they normally play for.
- Open the Squad list
- Find the player
- Tap the side chip on their row to assign or change their default side
A player can only have one default side at a time. Players without a default side are available to all fixtures regardless of side tag.
Tagging a Fixture to a Side
When creating or editing a fixture, you'll see a side selector. Choose the relevant side — the lineup builder will then pre-filter to show only the players assigned to that side.
If you select All sides, every active player is available regardless of their default side.
One-Off Side Changes (Squad Split)
Sometimes a player needs to play for a different side on a specific match day — a U10 playing up with the U12s, or a player covering for injuries. You can reassign any player for a specific match day without changing their default side.
From the Match Day detail screen, tap Squad Split to make temporary reassignments. These apply to that match day only; the player's default side is unchanged for all other fixtures.
Sides and Season Stats
The Stats tab includes a side filter when Team Sides is enabled. Tap a side chip to filter both the player table and the team record to show only data from fixtures tagged to that side.
This lets you see the A team's record and the B team's record independently from the same Stats screen.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do sides have separate chat channels or training sessions?
No — chat, training, and the newsfeed are shared across all sides. Sides only filter fixtures, lineups, and stats.
Can a player appear in both sides?
A player has one default side, but can play for any side on a specific match day using the Squad Split tool. There's no permanent dual-registration.
What if I create a fixture without tagging it to a side?
It defaults to "All sides" — every active player is available and the lineup builder shows the full squad.
Can I delete a side?
Yes — from the Sides settings screen, tap the side and delete it. Players assigned to that side become unassigned (available to all fixtures). Any fixtures tagged to that side remain but lose their side tag.
We used Team Sides during the season but don't need them next season — can I turn it off?
Yes. Toggle Team sides off in Optional modules. Historical fixture tags and stats remain; the side filter just won't appear going forward.
