Refer a Coach: Your Team's Code and Card

Overview

Every team on Squadd has its own referral code and a shareable card. When a coach you know sets up their team on Squadd and enters your code, that team is linked to yours. Once three of the teams you referred are properly up and running, Squadd adds three months of Pro to your team, at no cost.

The card is built for the moment after a match: show it on your phone, or send it on WhatsApp, and the other coach has everything they need in one place: what Squadd is, a QR code to get the app, and your code.

Finding your code and card

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap Refer a coach
  3. Your code and card are at the top of the screen

Refer a Coach is available to every team, in Settings under Refer a coach.

Sharing

  • Share card sends the card as an image (WhatsApp, Messages, AirDrop, or save it to your photos to show it pitch-side).
  • Share link sends a short message with your code and a link to your referral page.
  • Tap the copy icon to copy the code on its own, or tap the link to copy it.

The QR code on the card and the link both open the same page: it names your team, shows your code, and points to the App Store or Google Play.

What the other coach does

  1. Gets Squadd from the App Store or Google Play
  2. Creates their team
  3. Enters your code in Referral code on the create-team screen

The code can only be entered when a team is created, and only by someone setting up their first team on Squadd as a coach. A parent or player on your team who goes on to run their own side counts, and so does a coach who is new to Squadd. It doesn't change anything for them: every new team gets the same free 4-week Pro trial and the same free plan afterwards.

When a referral counts

A referred team counts once it is genuinely up and running: it has at least five players and at least one fixture, match day or training session. Until then it shows as Setting up on your Refer a coach screen; once it counts, it shows as Counted.

Teams you coach yourself, and test teams, never count. Squadd checks referrals every hour and sends you a notification when one counts and when a reward is added.

The reward

Every three counted referrals add three months of Pro to your team, up to four rewards in total. If your team is on a free trial or already has Pro, the months are added on top of what you already have. If your team pays for Pro through the App Store or Google Play, we add the months by hand and let you know.

Common questions

Can I use my own code on a second team I create?
No. Codes are for coaches setting up their first team on Squadd.

We renamed the team. Will the card update?
Yes, on its own. The next time you open Refer a coach the card shows the new name.

A coach entered my code but they don't show up.
Referrals appear as soon as the code is entered on the create-team screen. If they created the team without the code, they can't add it later themselves; ask them to get in touch with support within 30 days of creating the team.
