The Score on My Match Is Wrong — How Do I Fix It?
Where scores come from
Scores in Squadd are set in two places:
- Automatically — calculated from goal events recorded during a live match
- Manually — entered directly on the match report screen if you didn't use live tracking
Depending on which applies to your situation, the fix is in a different place.
Fix 1 — Correct a manually entered result
If you typed the score directly into the match report (rather than recording live goals):
- Open the fixture → Match Report
- Find the score fields at the top
- Update the numbers
- Tap Save draft or Update & repost if you've already published
Fix 2 — Correct a goal recorded during a live match
If you used live match tracking and a goal event is wrong (wrong scorer, wrong team, or an extra goal was tapped by mistake):
- Open the fixture detail
- Scroll to the Match Events section
- Find the incorrect event
- Tap it to delete it, or add a missing goal with + Event → Goal
The score on the match report updates automatically once events are corrected.
⚠️ If you've already published the match report, correcting events updates the fixture detail but does not automatically update the feed post already published to the team news. You can delete the old feed post and republish the report to send a fresh match summary.
Fix 3 — Match is showing as in progress but it's finished
If you forgot to tap Full Time, the fixture may still show as in progress with an incomplete score.
- Open the fixture detail
- Tap Full Time to close the match
- The result locks in and parents receive the result notification
Fix 4 — Result shows 0–0 but goals were scored
This usually means goals were recorded as events but the score display hasn't updated, or the match was ended before goals were logged.
Check the Match Events section on the fixture detail. If goals are listed there, the score will reflect them correctly in the match report. If the events list is empty, add the goals manually via + Event → Goal (you can do this even after the match has ended).
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I correct a score on a published match report?
Yes — editing the score on the match report and saving re-saves the result. The fixture detail updates immediately. The team feed post (match summary) is not retroactively updated — see Fix 2 above if you've already published.
Can parents correct a score?
No — only coaches and team admins can edit fixtures, match events, or match reports.
The league table on an external website shows the wrong score — can Squadd fix that?
Squadd stats are unofficial and not connected to any league system. If the score needs correcting with your league or COMET, update it there directly using your league's process.
