Adding stats after the game
Overview
You don't have to tap everything on the touchline. Plenty of coaches add the stats once the game is over: from memory on the way home, from notes scribbled at half time, or while watching a video of the match.
Whatever you add counts just as if you'd recorded it live. It goes into the season stats and the top scorer, each child's season page, the match report and milestones like a first goal or a hat-trick.
🔒 Adding goals, shots and saves is part of live match recording, which is a Pro feature. Logging the final score and picking Player of the Match are free on every plan.
If you didn't record the match live
- Open the game from the Fixtures tab
- Find the Log the result card. Straight after kick-off it's tucked behind Already played? Log the result
- Enter the final score and tap Save result. The Match Report opens
- Tap Add or fix match stats
If you recorded the match live
Open the finished game and tap Add or fix match stats. It's also on the Match Report, under the Recorded live line.
Use this to fill in anything you didn't get to during the game, such as a scorer you missed or the shots and saves from a busy spell, or to fix a wrong tap.
Adding what happened
Add or fix match stats opens the match timeline on its Goals page:
- Goals: tap Goal For and pick who scored. Your whole squad is listed, so it doesn't matter who was on the pitch at the time. Then pick who assisted, or tap No assist. For the other team's goals, tap Goal Against. Long-press either button to record an own goal
- Shots: if Shot tracking is on (Settings > Team modules), tap Log a shot for each attempt that didn't go in, on target or off
- Saves: if Goalkeeper tracking is on, tap Save once for each save your keeper made
Each tap is saved as you go. You don't need to press Save on this screen.
How the score behaves
A score you typed in yourself stays as it is while you add the goals. Once the goals add up to that score, the score follows them, so adding or removing a goal after that changes it too.
Getting the minutes right
Anything you add after the game is filed at 0' if the match wasn't recorded live, or at the final minute if it was.
To put a goal at the minute it happened, swipe to the Timeline page, tap the edit icon on the goal and choose Edit minute.
For minutes played, go back to the Match Report and use the per-player minutes editor. Even split gives everyone a fair share to start from, and you can then change anyone who played more or less. Pick Who kept goal? there too, so clean sheets go to the right keeper. Tap Save changes when you're done.
Logging from a video
If you film your games, whether on a phone or with a camera system, you can log the stats as you watch. Pause at each goal, chance or save, tap it in, then carry on watching.
If the video starts at kick-off, its clock gives you the minute for each goal.
Tips
💡 Tip: No signal? Your taps are kept on your phone and sync as soon as you're back online.
💡 Tip: If you've already published the match report to the Feed, tap Update report at the bottom of the Match Report so the post shows the scorers you've just added.
💡 Tip: Families see the new goals on the match page and on their child's season page as soon as you add them.
Troubleshooting
I tapped Add or fix match stats and got a Pro screen. Adding goals, shots and saves is part of live match recording, which needs Pro. The final score and Player of the Match are still free. See Managing your subscription.
All my goals say 0'. That's the minute for anything added after a game that wasn't recorded live. Set each goal's real minute from the Timeline page (see Getting the minutes right), or leave it: the goals still count in every stat.
I added a goal but the score didn't change. The score you typed stays as it is until the goals add up to it. Add the rest of the goals, or change the score with the + / − steppers on the Match Report. See The score is wrong.
I can't see Log a shot or Save. They only show when Shot tracking or Goalkeeper tracking is switched on in Settings > Team modules.
