Sharing a Match Day Schedule
Overview
When you host a match day (Fixtures → + New → Host a match day, previously called Festival planner), Squadd builds the whole schedule for you and turns it straight into a graphic you can share. This article covers what's on that schedule, how to share it, setting club badges, and how to change the timings after the day's already been created.
Building the schedule (a quick recap)
On the Host a match day screen, enter 2 to 16 team names, the number of pitches (1 to 8), the game length, half length, half-time break, break between games, and the first kick-off (a tap-to-pick time control). Tap Generate schedule and Squadd builds the full round-robin, including byes, and shows a live preview of the schedule, already in shareable form. Tap Create match day to save it, with every game, including any that are between two other teams, stored on the day.
For the full step-by-step, see Host a match day.
How the timings add up
Each slot on the schedule is play, then the half-time break, then the break between games. For example, 2 x 10 minute halves, a 2 minute half-time break, and a 5 minute break between games puts kick-offs 27 minutes apart.
The half-time break is a scheduling figure only. It doesn't change the live-match clock when you actually run the game.
Sharing the schedule
Share it from either of two places: the live preview shown right after you generate the schedule, or the Share button in a match day's Matches section at any time afterwards.
The schedule graphic shows:
- Kick-off rails (the running order of games)
- Pitch tags (hidden automatically when the day only uses one pitch)
- Club badges
- A format strip, for example 7v7, 20 MIN 2 x 10 HALVES, 2 MIN HALF-TIME, 5 MIN BETWEEN GAMES, plus the number of teams, pitches and matches
- The expected finish time
- A small Squadd footer with an optional QR code you can turn on or off
From there you can:
- Share schedule image: for WhatsApp
- Share a team's schedule: a personal card for one visiting team, covering just their games, their pitches, their first and final kick-off, and their own finish time
- Export PDF: prints well and paginates automatically for big festivals
- Share as text
Club badges (the crest library)
Tap any badge circle on the schedule preview, or the crest chips in the share options, to set a club's badge. Choose a photo, or if that club is already on Squadd, you're offered their real badge with one tap. Once set, a badge is saved against that opponent's name and reused for the rest of the season, so you only need to do it once.
Teams without a badge get a neat initials circle instead.
📝 Note — Setting a club badge is a Coach/Team Admin action.
Editing timings on an already-created day
Open Edit match day to change Half length, Half-time break or Break between games.
- Save stores the new half-time break without moving any kick-off times. The times you've already published stay as they are, and the gap between games absorbs the change.
- Re-space kick-off times instead moves every later game so each slot runs play, then half-time, then the break. The first kick-off never moves, and only games that are still upcoming and scheduled are affected.
Frequently asked questions
Can I turn off the QR code on the schedule graphic?
Yes, it's a toggle in the share options.
Does the schedule graphic show pitch numbers if we're only using one pitch?
No. Pitch tags are hidden automatically when the day only uses one pitch.
Will "Re-space kick-off times" change games that have already been played?
No, only games that are still upcoming and scheduled move, and the first kick-off never moves either way.
Do I need to set a club badge for every opponent?
No. Any team without a badge just gets a neat initials circle, so it's entirely optional.
Does the schedule include games my team isn't playing in?
Yes. A hosted match day's schedule includes every game in the round-robin, including games between two other teams, not just your own.
