Voting for Parents' Player of the Match

Prerequisite: Parents' Player of the Match module must be enabled by your coach

Overview

After each completed match, parents vote for the Parents' Player of the Match. It's a great way to celebrate the players who made a difference, and the kids love seeing which player their team's parents picked. (On an adult team it's called Players' Player of the Match.)

Voting is separate from the coach's own Player of the Match pick.

How to Vote

Voting opens as soon as the match finishes and stays open for 3 hours. You don't need to wait for the match report.

  1. Open the Fixtures tab and tap the completed match. If your coach recorded the match live, you can tap the full-time notification instead, which opens the match for you
  2. Scroll down to the Parents' Player of the Match section
  3. Tap the player you want to vote for
  4. Your vote is submitted immediately

You get one vote per match. You can change it at any time while voting is open.

Changing Your Vote

Changed your mind?

  1. Scroll to the Parents' Player of the Match section on the completed fixture
  2. Tap Change vote (pencil icon)
  3. Tap a different player

Your original vote is removed and the new one is recorded.

After You've Voted

The section shows who you voted for, with Change vote while voting is open. Vote counts aren't shown to parents, so nobody can see how many votes any player got.

Once voting closes, the section shows the winner. If two or more players finish level, they share it.

Your coach sees the full count, including which parents voted for which player.

When Does Voting Close?

Voting closes automatically 3 hours after full time. A countdown on the match shows how long is left, and your coach can't close it early or keep it open longer. Once it closes, the result is final, no more votes can be cast and the winner shows on the match.

Frequently Asked Questions

I can't see the Parents' Player of the Match section. Why?
Either the module isn't turned on for your team, or the match hasn't finished yet. The section appears once your coach taps Full Time or adds the result. Ask your coach if you expect to see it.

Can I vote for a player from the other team?
No, only players on your team's squad are listed.

Can coaches vote?
Yes. Coaches can cast a vote too, and it counts alongside the parents' votes. Coaches also see the full breakdown.

What if there's a tie?
When two or more players get the same highest number of votes, they share the award, and each gets a win added to their season stats.

Will I get a notification when a new vote opens?
If your coach records the match live, yes: you'll get a notification at full time, which is when voting opens. Tap it to go straight to the match and vote. If your coach adds the result after the match instead, there's no notification, so check the match on the Fixtures tab. Either way you have 3 hours. The match report's post in the team feed also reminds you to vote, if it goes up while voting is still open.
