Voting for Player of the Match

Prerequisite: Parents' Player of the Match module must be enabled by your coach

Overview

After each completed match, parents can vote for their Player of the Match. It's a great way to celebrate the players who made a difference — and the kids love seeing which player their team's parents picked.

Voting is separate from the coach's Man of the Match selection. Both awards appear on the match report.

How to Vote

  1. Open the Fixtures tab and tap the completed match
  2. Scroll down to the Parents' Player of the Match section
  3. Tap the player you want to vote for
  4. Your vote is submitted immediately

You get one vote per match. You can change it at any time while voting is open.

Changing Your Vote

Changed your mind?

  1. Scroll to the Parents' Player of the Match section on the completed fixture
  2. Tap Change vote (pencil icon)
  3. Tap a different player

Your original vote is removed and the new one is recorded.

Viewing the Results

After you've voted, the section shows the current standings:

  • Top vote-getters are listed with vote counts and a bar showing their share of the total
  • The leading player is highlighted with a ⭐ and a yellow border
  • Your voted-for player shows (you) next to their name

Coaches can see exactly which parents voted for which player. Parents see only the totals and the winner.

When Does Voting Close?

Voting closes when your coach manually closes the poll. There is no automatic expiry date — your coach decides when the results are final. Once closed, the POTM winner is locked and no more votes can be cast.

Frequently Asked Questions

I can't see the Players' Player of the Match section — why?
Either the module isn't enabled for your team, or the match hasn't been marked as complete yet. Ask your coach if you expect to see it.

Can I vote for a player from the other team?
No — only players on your team's squad are listed.

Can coaches vote?
No — only parents can vote for Parents' POTM. Coaches see the results and voter names, but they can't cast a vote.

What if there's a tie?
When two or more players receive the same highest number of votes, all tied players are counted as winners. Each gets a POTM win added to their season stats.

Will I get a notification when a new POTM vote opens?
You'll receive a feed notification when your coach publishes the match report. The POTM section is ready to vote on immediately after publication.
