Can Parents See Stats? (And How to Turn It On)
The Short Answer
By default, no. The Stats tab is hidden from parents when a team is first created. A Team Admin can enable it at any time, and it can be turned off again just as easily.
Whatever that setting says, every family can see their own child's season (next section).
Your Own Child's Season (Every Family)
Tap your child's name on their card on Home, or their row on the Squad tab, to open their season page. It only ever shows your own child, never how they compare with the rest of the squad.
- On every plan: how many games they've played this season, their goals, and their last game
- With Pro: their awards (Player of the Match, the parents' vote, Player of the Day, captain), stickers, moments like a first goal, assists and keeper numbers, training, and earlier seasons
Minutes and starts appear on the page only when Show stats to parents is on.
On a free team, the Pro part shows what's waiting (for example, "Max has 4 stickers and 1 award this season") with a button to ask the coach for Pro. You can tick I'd chip in towards it when you ask, and the coach sees how many families asked and would chip in.
Turning Stats On for Parents
- Go to Settings → Team modules → Customise features
- Under Privacy, find Show stats to parents and toggle it on
- That's it — parents will see the Stats tab the next time they open the app
To hide stats again, toggle the same setting off.
What Parents See When Stats Are Enabled
When stats are visible to parents, they see:
- Team record — season W/D/L, goals for/against
- Form guide — recent results for the selected period
- Golden Boot leaderboard — top scorers (if Golden Boot module is on)
- Player stats table — goals, assists, cards, training attendance, Player of the Match count
What parents don't see by default (even when stats are enabled)
Two things stay hidden from parents unless you separately switch them on:

Player ratings have no opt-in: they stay coach-only, full stop. Minutes are different. A separate toggle, Equal minutes view for parents (Settings → Team modules → Customise features, under Privacy; off by default and only available once Show stats to parents is on), lets families see how playing time balances across the squad.
💡 Visibility vs depth are two different things. This toggle controls whether parents can see the Stats tab. How much stats there are depends on your plan. On the free plan everyone (coaches and parents) gets the team record, the form guide and the top scorer. The full per-player stats table, the leaderboards and the season form chart are Pro features — so on a free team there's no detailed per-player table for the toggle to reveal.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will parents be notified when I enable stats?
No — there's no push notification. Parents will simply see the Stats tab appear the next time they open the app.
Can I hide stats for specific players but show them for others?
No — it's an all-or-nothing team setting. All players' stats are shown or none are.
Should I enable stats for parents?
It depends on your team culture. Many coaches wait until mid-season when there's enough data to be meaningful, and when they're confident the stats won't cause friction (e.g. a parent questioning why their child has fewer goals than another). Some coaches at younger age groups (U7 and below) prefer to keep stats coach-only indefinitely.
A parent is asking why their child shows 0 goals, and the child definitely scored. What do I tell them?
A goal counts once it's recorded, either live during the match or afterwards on the match's timeline. If it wasn't recorded, add it on the timeline and it will show in their stats and on their season page.
Why does it say "Unofficial" on the Stats screen?
Stats in Squadd are calculated from the events you record — they're not connected to any league's official records. The "Unofficial" label is there to clarify this for parents who might compare Squadd stats against an official league table. See What does "Unofficial" mean?.
