Leaving a Team

Overview

If you no longer need to be part of a team — your child has moved clubs, the season's over, or you joined by mistake — you can leave it yourself from Settings. Leaving is per team: if you belong to more than one team, leaving one has no effect on the others.

How to Leave a Team

1. Make sure the team you want to leave is your active team — use Settings → Switch Team if you're currently viewing a different one
2. Go to Settings
3. Scroll to the bottom and, under Leave or delete, tap Leave [team name]
4. Read the confirmation and tap Leave team

You'll be switched to your next team automatically. If it was your only team, you'll land back on the create/join screen.

What Happens When You Leave

• You leave that team only — any other teams you belong to aren't affected
• You stop receiving that team's notifications
• You lose access to its feed, fixtures, training, chat and payments
• Any children linked to you on that team stay in the squad — only your link to them is removed, so their playing history is untouched
• You can rejoin at any time with an invite code from the coach

💡 Parent at two clubs? Leaving one team removes you and your child links from that team only. Your child's record and your access on the other team carry on exactly as before.

If You're the Only Team Admin

A team must always have at least one admin, so you can't leave while you're the only one. If you're the only person on the team, Settings doesn't offer Leave at all: delete the team instead (below). If other people are on it, you'll see a message asking you to either:

• Promote another member to Team Admin first — see Managing Your Team Members, then leave, or
• Delete the team instead, if it's genuinely finished with

Deleting a Team

Leaving a team and deleting it are different things. Leaving takes you off it and the team carries on. Deleting removes the team itself.

If you're the only person on the team, you can delete it yourself:

1. Make it your active team
2. Go to Settings
3. Scroll to the bottom and, under Leave or delete, tap Delete [team name]
4. Read what's going, tap Delete team, then either tell us why or tap Skip

This is the one to use if you set a team up wrong, made it twice by mistake, or were only having a look. It removes the team and everything on it: players and their photos, fixtures, training, lineups, results, gallery photos and chat. It can't be undone, and it's separate from your account, which stays exactly as it is along with any other teams you're on.

If other people have joined the team, there's no delete button, on purpose. Deleting would take every parent's fixtures, chat, photos and payment records with it, so we'd rather not put that behind one tap. Email us at hello@squadd.co.uk from the address you signed up with and we'll do it with you.

⚠️ Paying for Pro? Deleting a team does not cancel a subscription. On an iPhone, cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android, in the Play Store → Payments & subscriptions. The app will remind you of this when you delete.

Deleting a team vs deleting your account

If what you want is a fresh start on one team, delete the team, not your account. See Account Management if it really is the account you want gone.
