Editing Your Team Details

Overview

You can update your team's core details at any time — name, age group, format, squad makeup, and league association. These settings affect how Squadd displays your team and how the lineup builder and match defaults work.

Only Team Admins can edit team details.

How to Edit Team Details

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap Edit team details
  3. Update any fields
  4. Tap Save

Editable Fields

Field What it does
Team name Displayed throughout the app and in invite messages
Age group Display only (e.g. "U9", "U11") — updated automatically when you start a new season
Format Determines pitch slot counts and available formations (5v5, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11)
Squad makeup Boys / Girls / Mixed — informational, used for appropriate display in some contexts
League association FA / FAW / SFA / IFA / Other — affects match duration defaults and COMET nudges (FAW teams only)

Changing Format Mid-Season

If your team is promoted or moves to a different format part-way through a season (e.g. 7v7 to 9v9):

  1. Update the format in Edit team details
  2. Update the Default formation to match the new format (the old formation may have the wrong number of slots)
  3. Existing fixtures retain their original format setting — only new fixtures created after the change will default to the new format

Frequently Asked Questions

Can coaches (non-admins) edit team details?
No — the screen shows a locked message for non-admin roles.

Will changing the team name update existing invite links?
The invite link itself remains valid, but the team name in the WhatsApp message template will reflect the new name the next time you generate an invite.

Does changing the format affect historical fixture stats?
No — past fixtures keep their original format. Only new fixtures will use the updated format default.
